Shake up!
Saturday - October 19, 2002
According to the NY Post, Trottier and staff will be unveiling quite a few lineup changes for tonight's game against the Predators. Leetch and Poti will remain together while Kasparaitis will be paired with Lefebvre and Malakhov with Purinton. They're not done, though. Nedved and Rem Murray will change places - Nedved on Holik's LW and Murray on the top line. Dvorak will also change lines to play with Nedved and Holik. AS WELL, Petrovicky will return to the lineup, either in place of Dixon Ward or Messier if he's unable to play after missing yesterday's practice with the flu. Phew. So it looks like tonight's lines will be... Murray-Lindros-Bure
Leetch/Poti
Personally, I'm not very fond of the changes in the forward lines. A good checking line in Murray-Holik-Samuelsson is now broken up, and I'm not sure about Murray's effectiveness on the first line, nor the idea of Holik between Nedved and Dvorak. I guess we'll see, though. The tandem of Leetch and Poti seemed like a disaster in the making, yet, through five games it's been very effective in BOTH ends, so you never really know how these things work out. The Hockey Rodent has been hitting the spreadsheet and has a few words for you on shaky goaltending. Looks like it's going to be a light Saturday for Ranger articles, as the Saturday on-line editions of the Times, Daily News and Newsday don't have Ranger articles today. I think there's a baseball game tonight or something. - Rocha
