Left him hangin'
Monday - December 16, 2002

I'm surprised Bird the goalie didn't even mention the fine work put in by Mike Dunham tonight in making 25 saves on 26 shots. Me, I am absolutely thrilled that it seems like we have our best goalie since probably Richter's 96-97 season. Mike Dunham is a good goalie, people. Forget Lindros, Holik, Bure or Poti. The move with the most impact Sather has made in his tenure here will probably prove to be the Mike Dunham trade. Oh yeah, I'm blabbing away and forgot the reason why I'm here: Report card.

Rocha,
I stand corrected. Dunham did a great job. I sat right behind him front row right next to the goal judge. I had to get out of my seat to let the goal judge in his seat. The first 5 minutes, he looked lost. I was really scrutinizing this guy, because I prefered other goalies that were available, and I really liked KLoucek. But as the game progressed, I noticed he was really calm in net. Very solid. I could see in the D-men's faces that they were confident in him. You were right. If we lost a guy who would have never played in MSG anyway, and Rem Murray, I have to admit that this was a great move.

Keep up the good work
Gatti
