Insert Clever Jaws Reference Here
Tuesday - December 17, 2002
Sorry, Chris gave you the Jaws references yesterday, I have none. And as Rocha pointed out last night, I didn't mention Mike Dunhams solid performance. So sue me. Newsday - "We really needed to win a game like this," Mark Messier said. "A low-scoring, tight game. We did what it took tonight and ended up getting the win." Daily News - "Petr's been a horse," Rangers coach Bryan Trottier said. "There have been nights when he's come out empty on the scoresheet. But he's done a lot of good things defensively, taking faceoffs, playing against the other team's best line." Daily News on Tibbets - Tibbetts pleaded guilty in 1994 to raping a 15-year-old girl at a party in Sciutate, Mass. Tibbetts was 17 at the time of the incident. A judge gave Tibbetts a 31/2-year suspended sentence. But he was convicted of assault and battery against a police officer, disorderly conduct and intimidating a witness later that year. And in 1995, as the result of a conviction for assault with a dangerous weapon (a BB gun), he was sentenced to 2-1/2 years in prison. NY Post - "Not to say that this is as well as we can play or that we should be satisfied, but our work ethic was very strong and we paid attention to the necessary fundamentals all game," Bobby Holik said. NY Times - "I thought Mike Dunham in goal gave us a lot of poise in our zone," Coach Bryan Trottier said. NY Times on Bure - When asked if Bure, who leads the Rangers in goals with 14, would be able to return to full speed this season, Dr. Andrew Feldman, the Rangers' team physician, said, "I believe so, yes." North Jersey.com - "It was a great goal," Dunham said. "You're going to give up goals and I got the first one out of the way quick. We got the win, which was important, and I got more comfortable as the game went on." Journal News - "I don't think my life has ever been abnormal other than when I was incarcerated,'' said Tibbetts, who played for current Wolf Pack assistant coach Nick Fotiu as a teenager in the ECHL and was living with Fotiu in Hartford. MSGNetwork on Adam Graves - There is no better person than Adam. No person that gives more to his team, to his friends, to his organization and to the community than Adam Graves. He's one of the great people in hockey and one of the best people I've ever met. TSN on Ted Nolan - Nolan's name was chanted by the crowd Saturday night late in a 3-1 loss to Colorado at the Pengrowth Saddledome. "Really? I didn't know that,'' Nolan said. "No one told me that one.'' More later ----}- Posted by Bird at December 17, 2002 10:50 AMeMail this entry! Comments
I would LOVE to see Ted Nolan get a job in the NHL already. I say give the guy another chance, I know it is hard to forget the past, but c'mon already! At least Pete Rose got publicly banned from MLB! At least he was given the choice to expain himself and apologize to MLB. OK, he chose not to.....but anyway - This is like a silent ban from the NHL for Nolan. He was a great coach in Buffalo, it's not like he doesn't have what it takes to lead a team to the playoffs! " The Tibbit's story is old news, I think Dellapina maybe just didn't have anything else to write about? Hopefully, he will be a good boy here in NYC. Will you marry me, Tina? Posted by: Rocha on December 17, 2002 06:37 PMI would in a second, but I'm already married!! Post a comment
