Christmas Eve
Tuesday - December 24, 2002

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the rinks, not A Ranger was scoring because the offence, it stinks. OK, we did get the tie and had to come from behind to do it. Maybe I should lighten up a bit. Holik both hit the post and slapped one in with his hand.....no goals. I think he'd have been happy to finish one last night but it wasn't to be. One thing I'll give 'em, they played with passion and the fans responded. Nice to see a hotly contested game eh ?

Tip your hat to Mike Dunham who after just a few games is earning the respect of his teamates and Ranger fans. Folks, I think the guy can play and will help us out......we need to help him a bit by playing some D (getting healthy) and a goal or two wouldn't hurt.

Let's see what the locals are talking about today.....

Newsday - "Those kinds of kills come back and pay dividends down the road," coach Bryan Trottier said. "There was just a good playoff atmosphere out there."

Newsday again - Leetch anticipates his first turn on the ice will come by the end of this week. He expects to accompany the Rangers on their upcoming three-game swing through the Southeast.

Daily News - "These two teams haven't played a game like this in a while," Holik observed.

Daily News again - "He didn't play like he had too many friends over there," said an obviously delighted Rangers coach Bryan Trottier.

Post - "I finally feel like a Ranger," Holik said.

Post again - The fans in New York, they pay the price. All they ask is that their beloved team does the same. Last night, they did.

Times - "I found out six days before camp that I didn't have cancer," Bouchard said. "I didn't know whether I was going to N.H.L. camp or for chemotherapy."

More in a bit ----}-
