I forgot that Tony Granato was the head coach of the Avs.....anybody else wonder if the crowd at MSG would taunt him by calling him Cammy ? It also occurred to me that if Trottier stays in Colorado instead of taking the Rangers job....is he the head coach of the Avs now ? Just asking......
So it's Roy vs. Dunham....one would have to give the nod to Colorado, no ? Well, the Rangers did open the scoring with a terrific shift by Eric Lindros who was a one man wrecking crew. But the Avs take the lead 2-1 at the end of one.
The non-goal is a tough one to take......in my mind, that should have been a goal. Forget the rules......that was a goal. And yes, Devo hit the post.....that's not his fault, cut the guy a little slack eh !
PERIOD TWO:
Folks, this just ain't our year. If you were just to look at the boxscore, you'd assume that Dale pulled another bonehead play to get a four minute penalty. That was not the case.....it was just a bad break. To make matters worse, after the Rangers killed it off, they gave up another two goals.
The Rangers really are playing hard.....too bad the Avs have four consecutive goals to lead 4-1.....is it time to say goodnight ? The Grammy's are on CBS. Aw hell, I'll open another beer and hope for a big comeback. Or maybe not.
PERIOD THREE:
Patrick Roy. That's all that need be said. He closed the door early and that's all she wrote. Any NHL team can expect to lose a number of these kinds of games in any given season. The Rangers exhausted their supply a long time ago.
I can't kill the team for tonight's 4-1 loss. It's the games in the past that make this one so damaging. Too bad....they almost had me believing again.
Check the Rodent for new stuff.....sometimes he keeps it nested.
I also recommend venting on the boards.....all the cool kids do it.
