Happy Birthday Alexandria and Brian !
Tuesday - March 04, 2003
I woke up around 5 am.....or something close to that. MSG had the replay on and I watched the OT again, hoping that somehow we'd score. We didn't. Newsday - There is no defense for Brian Leetch at his best, though. And the defenseman, on his 35th birthday, was the one who gave his Rangers teammates a needed gift. Newsday again - The bandwagon didn't roll last night. But a few more people climbed on, the horn sounded a couple of times and Sather, the driver, promised to park it in the same spot Friday night when the Flyers come to town. All aboard? And one more Newsday - "You mean the goalie who had the illegal body parts and the wings on his shoulder pads?" Sather said when asked an innocuous question about Snow's performance. "I thought the league stopped that stuff. Obviously, he's got some type of contraption. But he played well." Daily News - "I said when he came back (from injury) that he's the most important player on our team and he's proven it again," Mark Messier said. Post - "I think Glen is beginning to see what kind of competitor Brian is now that he'd leading the way again. I think he's appreciating him more and more every game." Times - "It was about two feet from my face, so it was a beautiful goal," said Bobby Holik, who was driving toward the net as Leetch finished off the play. "I could feel the wind-pull from the puck as it passed by my face. I was closer to it than anybody else. It was a great backhander." Journal News (still having problems with their page, you'll need to scroll down to get the text) - "I think we started to lose some of our positioning and discipline early in the game," Sather said. "We were trying to create things that weren't there. We had some odd-man rushes against us, which we haven't had lately." More later I'm sure. A very happy bithday to Brian Leetch (35) and also to Alexandria (3). ----}- Posted by Bird at March 04, 2003 09:51 AMeMail this entry! Comments
