**Uncle Larry**

OK....let me see if I can explain this correctly. Over the years, visitors here have read my comments and some of the other writers articles regarding N.Y. Post writer Larry Brooks. We have not always been kind to him.....to say the least. So when a young man named Eric, claiming to be Larry's nephew posted a comment on the site defending his uncle, I thought I'd offer a chance for Larry to contact us and do a little interview in the Birdcage. Honestly, it was a throw a way line.....I had zero expectations that Eric would call his Uncle Larry and tell him about my offer and I sure as hell didn't think Mr. Brooks would take us up on the offer.

Well, I'm happy to report that Mr. Brooks did indeed contact us. And, he will be a guest of ours in the Birdcage. Yes, you read that right.....Larry is going to do an interview. I have to commend him on being a stand up guy. In our telephone conversation yesterday, I found Mr. Brooks to be a pretty decent guy who appears to be passionate about the game itself, and our NY Rangers. So, in the next few days....I'll post what should be a real fun interview.

In addition, I'd like to commend Eric for standing up for his uncle. I'm working on a way to make it worth his while.....like sending him a Hockeybird hat or t-shirt. Way to go Eric !

Now, in todays Post....Larry suggests that his sources inform him of Glen Sathers decision to be "anxious to chat " about Eric Lindros. For the record, that doesn't mean that Lindros is "on the block". If Uncle Larry's source is correct, I take it to mean that Slats would listen to any offers......hell, why wouldn't he listen ? I contend that the Rangers are NOT actively shopping the big guy.

Hey Bird! How do you have zero expectations of me? Im a reliable guy. But I guess you wouldn't know that. Just wanted to say thanks for the recognition and very nice article. Looking forward to the Q&A.

Really, I would never had pursued an interview with Uncle Larry had you not posted the comments you did. For one, I was sure he'd ignor us and for two....it didn't occur to me that anyone who knew him read this site. I forget sometimes that thousands of people read Hockeybird from over 53 countries....I'm amazed sometimes by the amount and variety of readers we get here.

I guess the writing staff of heather, Rocha, Gabe, Leedsy, Chris and the very famous Hockey Rodent deserve all of the credit.....no way this many people care about my stupid comments.
