Overtime Wins For Mother
Sunday - May 11, 2003

It was only fitting that the Ducks and Wild would go scoreless for regulation. It also made sence that the Ducks would find a way to win.....it's what they do these days......just find a way to win. If you were to combine the shot totals for both teams....you'd have the number of shots I used to see in just the first period.....light-weights.

The better of the two games to watch was the nightcap, as the Sens took an early lead only to have the Devs come back and tie it. I thought Broduer was brilliant at times......but the Sens popped one in OT, and that's all you need to win.

To celebrate the 1994st entry in the Rangers section of the Hockeybird messageboard, we are discussing the year, 1994. Our buddy yossarian posted a link to this article that revisits the playoffs of that season.....the one that still puts a smile on my face, nine years later.

Rocha pointed out that Uncle Larry has some words on the Rangers and you can discuss that and other things on the messageboards.

Not Hockey related and not that you need one but here's another reason to hate the NBA. Jack would get his ass kicked at a hockey game.

I'd like to say Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there.....Mom, where ever you are.....thanks and I miss you.

My mom passed away back in '93. Before each period I play, I get down on one knee in the crease, tap the post and say, "just me and you Mom.....just me and you." She never got to see me win a championship......but she was part of each one.

On a happier note, I have begun the process of converting the older content to this new format. All of the old Fact or Fictions are now up as well as the old Birdcage articles. You'll also find a few of the old On The Farms posted. I hope to complete the conversion over the next week or so.....the Report Cards are the hardest....so they'll come last, sorry Rocha. So go ahead, take a trip down memory lane.....it's kinda fun reading them.

Dear Bird,

Your Mom would be really proud of you. My Mom died in 2000. They never really leave us because everything they've taught us is always inside, that liitle voice helping to choose the right path.

Thanks on behalf of myself and all the Moms who read this column.
