Do Not Look Directly At The Screen
Friday - May 30, 2003
What most hockey pundits were afraid of has happened, the Ducks over the last two games have looked like, well.....the Ducks. What happened to the team that took apart the Wings and the Stars ? What happened to the keeper who wouldn't allow the Wild to score ? Where the hell is Paul Kariya ? I'll get hate mail for this.....but the Devils are what ails the Ducks. Sure, the Ducks have been flat.....but the Devs deserve major credit for shutting down anything the Ducks attempt. While Marty faced only 16 shots, he stopped them all. Back to back shut outs in the finals.......the stuff that only top keepers can do. No, I'll not become a fan of the Jersey team, but it's time someone shows a little respect. The finals are not the exciting contest we as hockey fans had hoped for. During the next two games, try not to allow the lack of action to put you to sleep. Instead, play a drinking game. Drink each time the Ducks get a shot on goal. You may still be sober at the end of the game but at least it'll keep your interest up. Brian Leeds offers up some of the best content on Hockeybird......period. It's a shame he can't find the time to publish more often as each one becomes an instant classic. Despite my public kissing of his ass, we'll have to wait until Brian decides to write again....so read his latest offering slowly so as not to waste it. Uncle Larry has not responded to the last few e-mails I've sent off and I'm not clear what, if anything that means. He is alive and well though....here's his Devils recap. Will he or won't he ? Penguin fans want to know. Speaking of the Pens, I read that they've been given permission to speak with Larry Robinson about the head coaching job. He'll also be talking to Boston and perhaps the Rangers. I'm no closer to getting a feel for the next Ranger coach than I was the day the season ended......stay tuned for a Sather surprise. From time to time, some of you find an article here at Hockeybird and post a link to it on you favorite messageboard. Recently, BlueBlood linked to a few stories at the MSGNetwork boards. I just wanted to say thanks for spreading the good word ! Of course, we have our own boards here.....kill time in the "Anything Goes" section, it's all the rage with the kids these days. It's not hockey talk.....but some of the stuff is very funny. Be careful though, not all of the posts are kid/work safe. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at May 30, 2003 10:50 AMeMail this entry! Comments
