Um....the Islanders fired Pete from Uniondale.
That's right.....Mike Milbury, Islander GM has fired Peter Laviolette in a move that just plain baffles the mind. The guy took the Isles to the playoffs both last year and this. While he may not be Scotty Bowman I listened to his interviews on WFAN here in NY and thought he was a good coach.
Perhaps there is another team in the NY area that needs a coach. Thanks to Hockey101 who posted the link on our boards.
The are 123 days until opening night of the '03-'04 NHL season.
