OK, some of you complained about the front page here at Hockeybird as it was too nice to the Devils, our arch enemies across the river. Newsflash.....they won the cup. Regardless of your (or mine) opinions on the Swamps, the fans there or members of the team, the Devs did what it takes to win and so I thought it was appropriate to congratulate them.

So now, I'm just posting anything at all.....just to get them off the top of the page, so if I ramble on a bit....it's for a good cause, OK ?

Cross Craig MacTavish off the list of possible coaches for the Blueshirts....he's been re-signed by the Oil.

Congrats to former "Black Ace" Eddie O who will be named head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I spent an hour yesterday on the phone with former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer, Artimus Pyle. My hope is to transcribe the best parts for an interview in the Birdcage. I know, it's not a hockey thing....but hey, it's the off season. Judging by the posts in our "Anything Goes" section, you guys have interests outside of hockey and music is a big topic. This interview was not really what I expected. Artimus is a great guy and very passionate about what was once a great band. He makes some very controversial statements during this frank and brutally honest interview. For the record, I am a huge fan and was not intending to touch on some of the issues we ended up discussing. This will take some work to put together so I'll alert you when it's ready for posting.

OK....I hope that's enough BS to take the smiling Stevens off the top of the page.
