A Trophy and Atrophy
Friday - June 13, 2003
Here's a story from Sportsnet.ca that outlines the winners of the NHL awards for the 2002-2003 season. Big night for Swedes, as both Naslund and Forsberg took home hardware. I thought that it was funny that a Leaf (Alex Mogilny) won the Lady Byng, considering that team's reputation for questionable play. Also, Brodeur won the Vezina. I'll congratulate him, but I'm not putting his picture here. I guess you're a better man than I am, Bird. One thing that I found amusing today in my fruitless search for Ranger news: Even with all of the stories about the Devils, the picture offered for sale on the New York Times' hockey page is one of the 1994 Ranger parade down Broadway. I guess Route 3 just isn't as photogenic. Rodent talks about Strachan's piece yesterday in the Toronto Sun, and the possibility of Robinson as the new coach of the Rangers. Sorry I haven't been updating very often - but I haven't really felt very qualified to comment on this year's playoffs. For some reason, it just didn't hold my interest this year like it has in seasons past. I feel kind of guilty, as I should be helping Bird out a bit more, but at least he's been watching the games; for the most part, I'd just be parroting the newspapers. I'll try to find you some more interesting stuff, though, as the summer progresses. -Chris Posted by Chris S at June 13, 2003 10:20 AMeMail this entry! Comments
Chris, Chris, Sorry @ the double post. Thanks Smackers - next 407 outing, I'll wear my regalia hat and look like a REAL jackass. Posted by: Chris on June 13, 2003 09:22 PMPost a comment
