As usual, I'm wrong and one of you have pointed it out. Larry Brooks is NOT the only beat reporter working.....I omitted Andrew Gross from the Journal News. Since they are not part of the big four you could cut me some slack.....thanks for pointing out my mistake Gus.
Journal News - Sather said he spoke again yesterday with Jay Grossman, the agent for unrestricted free agent Brian Leetch, and progress has been made toward a new contract. "I don't think we're very far away,'' said Sather, adding he does not expect Leetch to play anywhere else next season. ... Sather indicated he wasn't necessarily done shopping, saying he might add another center and/or wing. ... There's still no word from either Mark Messier or goalie Mike Richter whether they intend to return next season.
The Oil re-signed their captain.
