I'm not sure about how many more beautiful weekends we'll get....so I hope you all enjoy this one. Pre-season football is under way and baseball fans are gearing up for the post-season. That means it's not long before we get training camp reports and some pre-season games of our own. Until then, I recommend BBQs and beer.
BTW: I have been buying Labbat's Canadian Ale. I find it on sale and for the price, it's a pretty good drinking beer.

Newsday - The storied New York rivalry returns to the national stage after nearly a six-year hiatus when the Islanders host the Rangers Jan. 10 at Nassau Coliseum for an ABC Sports broadcast. The teams also meet on ESPN's Thursday Night Hockey on Dec. 18 at Madison Square Garden.
The Sporting News - Carter ducked a hearing last year by coming to terms with the Oilers. This time, he will bring fewer points to the table -- 55 as compared to a career-best 60 in 2001-02. His numbers and comparables suggest Carter will get a $1 million raise.
