Sorry folks, I've been a bit busy and finding the time to take care of things here at Hockeybird has been a little tough. I did manage to squeeze out a few minutes so let me pimp a few articles from us and then I'll look into some news links....not that there is that much to discuss just yet.
Word is that Messier has decided to come back, that's not new. Expect an announcement soon. The Rodent has a few choice words on the Moose....and it's not the "let's look back at his NHL career" variety.
Gabe pens a new Fact or Fiction.....with an optimistic feel.
Finally, I was lucky enough to corner Larry Brooks of the NY Post while he was on vacation with his family. I promised to stop bothering him if he answered a few questions for Hockeybird.....and so he did. He then mentioned something about a restraining order.
Mike Richter will announce his retirement on Thursday. Not only did we get the heads up on this from our buddy Bill, ESPN has mentioned it too. I didn't know they knew Bill. Mike will be remembered by Ranger fans for many years to come. I wrote about him just after his last injury and the Blueshirt Bulletin was kind enough to print it. I hope Mike gets to enjoy his family now as we have enjoyed watching him over the years. His performances in '94 and '96 were something to behold.
Kirk Muller has retired.
