More Camp News
Monday - September 15, 2003
First, a big thanks to those Hockeybird staff members and readers who made the trip to beautiful Vermont and reported back to us. This thread continues to give us details on what they saw. In addition, Heather has penned a new On The Farm focusing on the kids who will be in Hartford. Here's the Rodent.....always a good read eh ! Let's see how the beat writers saw things..... Newsday - Not even 22-year-old Jamie Lundmark is considered a prospect anymore. Lundmark is expected to be one of the top nine forwards for the Rangers, unless he plays poorly during the preseason and at the start of the regular season, which resulted in a six-week demotion last year as a rookie. Daily News - Asked about his recent metamorphosis from reckless, young power forward to cautious veteran who avoids contact when possible, Lindros says: "Whoa, you're going on a way deeper level than I care to go." NY Post - Fedor Tjutin struggled again and hasn't come close to resembling the player he was two years ago when, as an 18-year-old camp standout, he nearly forced his way onto the NHL roster. Journal News - Eight is enough: Sather said he plans to start the season with eight defensemen, meaning rookies Fedor Tjutin, Lawrence Nycholat, Pat Aufiero and Bryce Lampman are in the running for a roster spot. Here's the Rangers training camp page. I'll look for more Ranger stuff and bring you some NHL stuff later....for lunch. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at September 15, 2003 08:54 AMeMail this entry!
