Rangers score first but lose the game 5-3 !

The first goal was "Scored by A. Kovalev (1) assisted by P. Nedved and J. Hlavac (7:43)" PPG

ESPN has a better scoreboard system than does the Rangers site.

OK at the end of one period, the Ranger remain ahead 1-0 on the Kovalev power play goal.....it's so damn frustrating knowing that the Rangers are playing and we can't see it or hear it.

3-0 in the second period ! Kovey gets his second of the night. Dominic Moore also scored for the Blueshirts.

Dan popped into the comments to let us know that NHL.com has thier play by play thingee working, kinda.

OK....someone will have to explain this to me.....I go to put my kid to sleep and then somehow Dallas scores FOUR FRIKKIN TIMES ! The Rangers are now losing 4-3 at the end of two....damn.

Zubov opened the third period scoring.....I'm not happy anymore. Down 5-3....I think I'll open another beer.

OK...after a few beers and way too much clicking of the refresh button (I had at least seven browsers open), the Rangers lose a game...the first pre-season game of the year. I'm encouraged by the goals and early lead....but not happy with the 5 straight goals given up. Without seeing it, I don't know who to blame....or why. But one thing is for sure. Hockey is back and I have a fridge full of beer. Oh happy day !

Don't ask me why I feel the need to post here, I know you are reading too, but I'm obsessive, sorry.

That, and whoppee! The Rangers are now down 3-4 having surrended like 20 2nd period shots and four goals. That, and Barnaby now has like three minor penalties.

Promising start, ugly finish, sounds like our beloved Rangers.

1) It's 2-0 Rangers, Dominic Moore just scored at even strength. Assist to Juris Stals. Go Rookies Go!

2) The NHL site has it's full stats stuff running on the game, ice time, shifts, points, PIMs, the lot.

3) Chris Simon has already taken a fighting major. I'm not a big fan of the brawlers, but 1st game of the pre-season and the 31 year old vet is willing to drop them? Enthusiasm is never a bad thing. And getting the other guy to take an unsportsmanlike at the same time, well, I'm intrigued.
