Love Is In The Air
Friday - October 03, 2003
Dang! Winter has come early to Vermont. It's below freezing this morning and I had to break out the scraper for the first time. Fortunately, we have a passel of stories to warm your heart. First up, Professor Peabody, aka The Rodent, uses his WayBack Machine to take us on a magical journey to the past. Unfortunately, he only takes us back 5 years to a horrible, dystopian past where the Rangers sucked eggs. Oh wait -- that wasn't dystopian -- it was real and the Rangers have continued to suck eggs in the intervening years. So why is this story heart warming? Well, it's not, but he does have some nice things to say about Nedved and, as always, when the Rodent has something to say, he backs it up with stats. In a late afternoon piece yesterday, Rodent explained how the exposure of Ronald Petrovicky in the waiver draft was a case of Pride In The Name of Messier Love. The Post discusses growing chemistry between Holik and Lundmark. While they certainly haven't been lighting the ice on fire, it's good to hear that they are at least growing increasingly comfortable with one another. I say give it time and see how they do in games that actually mean something. In what may be my favorite article of the day, the Star Ledger discusses Purinton's new role as a player representative. This is a shrewed move on the player association's part if you ask me. Would you like to negotiate with Dale? Other Ranger representatives include Matthew Barnaby, Greg de Vries, Martin Rucinsky, and Ronald Petrovicky. Replace de Vries and Rucinsky with Simon and Scott and you've got the world's most intimidating representatives. Can you feel the love? Finally, Newsday informs us that Leetch has still not been able to skate, despite lacing up the skates. He hopes to try again this weekend. Either the machines just made changes to the Matrix or I've got a bad case of Deja Vu. There will be no love in the building tonight when the Rangers play the Devils. No official preview yet so I'll get that for you later in the day. Love, -- Rightbug Posted by Cliff at October 03, 2003 09:04 AMeMail this entry! Comments
