Not Bad
Thursday - October 09, 2003

I was grumbling yesterday, but what I caught of all three games last night was pretty good hockey. Between the three hockey matches and two baseball games all on at the same time, I could've used a Universal Remonster of my own last night.

There are nine games on the schedule this evening, including the Islanders at Washington and Buffalo at Philly. If you have satellite or digital cable you should be getting a week long free preview of the NHL's Center Ice package, so scan your channels for it.

There are a lot of "in house" articles to get to. Brian submits an intro and extrospective article on Dan Snyder and the sport itself in the Part II of his Eastern Conference preview, Fact or Fiction's Gabe-O-Rama has a buffet of topics, and "One Puck" Rodent has words on the league's future.

Ranger news in the dailies is on the slim side. I found Larry Brooks' assessment of the team and their chances to be pretty spot on. The Star-Ledger has a piece on lively dialogue, and Newsday also chips in with a short one.

Don't forget the CANES baby! I really am eager to get a look at this Stahl kid. 18 years old and starting on the top line? Is he that good or are the Canes that desperate?

When the Rangers play the Wild on Fri keep an eye on #31 for the Wild Brent Burns, 18 yr old 6'4 220 RW who sure didn't look like a rookie last night.

Frustrating when you see so many other teams find ways to insert their young players into the lineup and the Rangers don't
