The Rollercoaster Continues
Saturday - December 20, 2003
The line up for tonight's game in Ottawa will be a little different than the one that beat the Isles on Thursday night. Jason MacDonald was sent down to Hartford and so, will be replaced......my guess is that Jed Ortmeyer will rejoin the fourth line. My hope is that he will be centered by Messier leaving Lindros to continue with Barnaby and Simon. But with the way this season has unfolded so far, don't be surprised if Sather changes all the lines and abandons the things that seemed to work Thursday. I'm not saying it's what'll happen....I just saying that you shouldn't be surprised. Let's get some news.....then I have some family coming over. I hope they know to leave before the anthems are played. The Rodent points out a mistake I was not aware of. Jason MacDonald was not credited with his first NHL point on Thursday......and he should have been as explain by the Rodents wonderful crayon drawings. Brian Leeds is not a computer wizard. I sure wouldn't let him touch my floppy drive, but that's a whole other issue. Here's the latest in fantasy news from Brian. By the way.....I just now realized that Gandalf is gay. Funny, I didn't remember that from reading the books. I did have my doubts about that Pippin fellow though. Newsday wonders if tonight will be another let down. They list the game as being on MSG....but the Ranger site lists it as being broadcast on Metro TV. Who ya gonna believe ? This Daily News entry is hardly an article. I have just now typed more words than they did. What's up with that ? To make up for this....here's a Daily News article on Nick Fotiu sent in by Daria. Thanks ! Nick remains one of my all time favorite Rangers. Of course Mr. Brooks doesn't waste our time and lays out the ultimate challenge. The Journal News uses the term Ying and Yang in today's article. I watched The Last Samurai last night. Coincidence ? I think not. The Star-Ledger talks about Lindros and his meeting with Sather. I hear they were discussing this years secret Santa. The Flyers cut a deal and signed Mike Comrie. One more item. From time to time I get a request to add a link to our links page. I'm sorry I don't do a better job of updating that page.....one day I should redo the whole thing. Anyhow, I was sent this link. It's a Billy Tibbets fan site. The guy flew out to California from Pennsylvainia just to see him play in an ECHL game. Then Billy took him to lunch. Next week we'll post a link to a Saddam Hussien fan site and learn about the deposed dictator's love for rabbits and read about his Teletubbies collection. I'll be back later with some more news.....or at least after the game for the recap. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at December 20, 2003 11:04 AMeMail this entry! Comments
Bird, Thanks for the article on Nicky. Nick and I are the same age. He is one of the most beloved Rangers because he gave hope to all NYC kids (like the Mullens)that if you wanted it bad enough and worked hard enough, you could get into the NHL. He was a fan's player and defined heart and commitment. He will always be the consumate Ranger in my book. Glad he's still with the org in Hartford. It was great to see him at training camp, too. GO Nicky!!! Posted by: mhurley on December 20, 2003 12:29 PM[This comment has been edited to fit your screen and contains brief nudity.
