Don't Be Shocked By Bolts
Sunday - January 11, 2004
It's been a few years since Tampa Bay could be referred too as "hapless" as they used to be. Heck, they have even won a playoff series since then. But some how the Rangers didn't show 'em respect and would get embarrassed in a loss. Now this year is different. The current Ranger squad in no way, shape or form should be taking the Bolts lightly....but don't be surprised if that happens. Yesterdays win showed to me at least that the Rangers are capable of playing at high level yet they can't seem to string together a good streak of periods, let alone games. At 5pm tonight inside a warm MSG we will find out if the Rangers are hot....or just as cold as it is outside. Newsday has praise for Dunham and Dale. The Daily News recaps the game. Sherry Ross takes shots at ESPN. Normally I'd applaud such a column....but this is kinda like Saddam Hussein calling Hitler an asshole. Sherry does remind us that the US vs. Canada gold medal game is being televised tonight after the Rangers on MSG. Larry Brooks posts what looks like a marriage proposal to Eric Lindros. The big guy is playing great....he's fun to watch again. Larry also has his Slap Shots article.....where, get this....takes a shot at the Devils. Will wonders never cease ? On a side note....I take shots a Larry very often....but I admit to being disappointed when he doesn't have a column. Here's the NY Times entry for the day. The Journal News article is pretty good I guess....but here's what everyone else had at the bottom and I haven't mentioned it yet. "The Rangers claimed right wing Jeff Heerema off waivers from St. Louis and assigned him to Hartford". Oh....Brian Boucher starts tonight vs. Atlanta.....can six shutouts happen ? Just a guess....but I'd bet that after he gives up one, the floodgates open as his mojo will have been over-extended. But who knows ? Maybe he's still got a little for tonight.....I wish him luck ! ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at January 11, 2004 11:22 AMeMail this entry! Comments
