See Ya At Nassau
Saturday - January 31, 2004
Yup, after yet another blown opportunity for points the Rangers travel to Buffalo to close out the home and home with the Sabres.....but I won't be watching. Instead, I accepted an invitation to go see Luongo vs. DiPietro at the Nassau Coliseum. I'll miss tonight's game......and I won't even tape it. As for last night's game......I was watching....but why, really ? I should have turned it off and spent the time with my girls. What a waste of ice. Brian Leeds blows the dust off the Between Periods column and spits out a new one entitled "RIP New York Rangers". The Rodent's Birth-O-Meter is at 3.1 % and we have yet to end January....that's NOT good. The Daily News has the headline, "Sabres Cut Rangers". Oh....very clever. NY Post - Glen Sather's Blueshirts continue to insult the paying customers. NY Times - "We can't replace Eric really with anyone," Coach Glen Sather said at the morning skate. Then his players went out and proved him right. NY Times on concussion. Journal News - "We need to get things done," said Rangers defenseman Dale Purinton, who scored their lone goal. "Time is out for us talking and making up excuses. It's time to press the panic button." Star-Ledger - Lindros will be sleeping and resting quietly as much as possible for the next couple of days in order to give his injured brain a break. I'm sure there are a bunch more links I could get for you.....but really, I'm just not into it today. Sorry. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at January 31, 2004 08:39 AMeMail this entry! Comments
Bird, I don't blame you for not being into it. I love and adore the Rangers no matter what, but even this is getting to be too much for diehard-bleed-Ranger-blue fans like me. There are no words to describe the awful sinking feeling of watching your team fail again and again. Well, enjoy the game tonight, it's better than watching the Rangers!
