News Quickie
Friday - February 06, 2004

I'm gonna get you the news real quick and then be back for more stuff in a bit.

Newsday - "I'm definitely looking forward to some time off from this," Bobby Holik said. "I think we all need it, more mentally than physically."

Newsday on L.I. native Mike Komisarek.

Daily News - Glen Sather dismissed the Rangers yesterday for the All-Star break sounding like a man who fully intends to remain their coach when they reconvene Monday afternoon.

NY Post - "Goaltending is always a key ingredient. If [a trade] happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. But I don't want to analyze the goaltending in the paper because [Dunham] might read it, and he might be our guy. [If that's the case,] we're going to have to work with him so that he's at the top of his game."

Guess what.....he already knows that you want to make a deal.

Journal News - "Goaltending always is the key," Rangers coach Glen Sather said yesterday after sending his team into the three-day break with a tough practice at the Madison Square Garden Training Center. "That kind of save (on Gaborik) should be a given for somebody in the NHL. Goalies don't normally lose their crease like that.''

I'm sure you have read that the Rangers will broadcast thier games via radio on ESPN's station here in NY. Now, the Devils have been picked up by WFAN, the station that carries the Rangers currently.

Star-Ledger - Dunham on the break - "I'm going to get refreshed, and come back Monday ready to work," he said. "We have a lot of catching up to do, and the best way you can do that is to start winning games. It's certainly good to get away, and I think it's good for everybody to get away. I'm sure everybody's mentally tired, we've had some downs, and it's good to get some rest."
