Bring Up The Kids
Saturday - February 14, 2004
At least we have some good reasons to tune in today at 3pm on ABC. While a Ranger - Flyer game would normally get me going today will feature the NHL debut of Fedor Tjutin. He plays in place of the injured Joel Bouchard. Jagr is out so Jamie Lundmark will move up to the Holik line and Jason MacDonald is going to dress. Plenty of kids to watch. It's also possible that the Flyers will look for Bobby Holik everytime he's on the ice.....so today's game has some good entertainment value for sure. Let's get to the news: First stop, the Rodent. He's always got something good for you. Newsday - "I'll do anything for this team," he said. "I love my teammates, I love the city. If I could help in any way, I'd go [to Philadelphia and play] . . . when I can help, I'll play." - JJ Daily News - "They've been booing for two months," Kovalev said. "Everybody is used to it already. There's nothing I can do. That's their right. They come and they enjoy the game and whatever they do, that's them. We're out there and we play hockey. And all we can really do is not worry about it, not pay attention." Larry Brooks - Slats on Fedor - "We'll try and ease him in slowly and if he looks good and feels confident, it could be a big boost for us. He might as well be baptized under fire." NY Times - "At the end of the game, he was skating by, and I said he's dead tomorrow night," Fedoruk said at the Flyers' practice rink in Voorhees, N.J., yesterday. "It's in the back of his mind." That sounds like the sixth grade......you are so dead after school. We'll see tough guy, we'll see. Star-Ledger - On Jagr - "There was something wrong with my rib muscle, and that's connected to your back, and then your abdomen and groin," he said. "But I wanted to play (for the Rangers), even though I didn't feel good. I was able to play, so I did." The Journal News informs us that the future of the NHL is Colin Campbell's hands. Oh great.....Clueless Collie. Just kill me now. Three Cheers for the Wolf*Pack's Jason Labarbara who set an AHL record with his 10th shut out of the season beating the baby Flyers 4-0. Here's another Wolf*Pack article. I'm sure there is plenty of other news.....we'll try and recap the game and other stuff later tonight. In the meantime, why not kill some time by visiting the Birdcage for a non-hockey article. This time I take a little trip (not that kind) down memory lane and discuss some of the great bands I got to work with during my time at WLIR. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at February 14, 2004 09:49 AMeMail this entry!
