Where Did Everybody Go ?
Monday - February 23, 2004

Hey.....get back here.

This past weekend saw a dramatic drop in visits to this site. As I mentioned yesterday, many of you have just stopped caring. This is important only in that the NYR have thrived on grabbing your attention one way or another. Each time the teams have lost us over the last bunch of years....something happens to pull us back in. I expect that to happen again......maybe any minute now.

The Rodent continues his pleth.....abundance of html on the Rangers.

Newsday - "To sit here and publicly say we're going to make a bunch of deals doesn't make sense," Sather said. "The best thing to do is to say, 'No comment.' "

Daily News - "We're in a fragile time zone right now, that we have to continue to play and solve our problems internally. But turning to you guys and giving you all the scoops that you want or the information so that it's a nicer story, I don't think helps the team any."

NY Post - In the Rangers' locker room, Jed Ortmeyer smirked. He couldn't believe that for the first time since he grabbed a hockey stick, his team would miss the playoffs.

Star-Ledger - On yesterday's open practice and fan luncheon - "It's a very difficult day. I wish the timing was different," he said. "But you schedule it a year (in advance), and you're committed to it. You can't very well cancel it because we're in a bad, horrible mood today. These things to me are almost like a death in the family. Well, I'm not saying it's that severe. But the players don't feel comfortable, and nobody wants to talk to anybody."

Journal News - Sather said Lindros was feeling better and some of his symptoms were subsiding. ... Yesterday's practice was open to sponsors and other VIPs, and the players then joined their guests at a luncheon.

So, Les Habs are at MSG tonight and at 7pm I'll inform the family that it's time for hockey. Even my 18 month old looks at me as if to say....Daddy, why do you do this ? Like Glen Sather......I'm at a loss for an answer.

Do you enjoy the game of Poker ? Many here on the boards do....so we opened a special section.....I wanted to call it the NY Mets Clubhouse but was unsure if anyone would get it.

I'm still here, love the site, but not too hot for hockey this year (just like the Rangers). Rightbug rocks!

Hey Bird, could you do a piece on possible Ranger trades? Is Lindros getting dealt? What about Dunham? Kovalev? Any ideas beyond that would be cool too.
