On The Previous Episode Of Hockeybird.com...
Wednesday - February 25, 2004
As Bird told you a little while ago, Glen Sather plans on stepping down as head coach sometime today, if he hasn't done so already. TSN's current headline is incredibly misleading, claiming "Sather Set To Quit Rangers" when it's not the Rangers he's leaving (for the moment, anyway), just the coaching position. ESPN also reports this, sans misleading headline. Larry Brooks had the drop on it this morning, also claiming that perhaps Jim Schoenfeld is a candidate besides Tom Renney or Terry O'Reilly. In what would be the big story of the day were it not for the Sather issue, Eric Lindros has been cleared to resume skating. The Star-Ledger has a similar story. John Dellapina talks about the possibility of Brian Leetch being traded AGAIN. At least the article confirms that the Rangers have officially entered "sell mode", which has been a big topic of debate on the messageboard lately. The Times talks about miscelaneous Ranger items - Kovalev, Lindros, how much the team stinks, etc. The Journal News says Fedor Tyutin will not be part of the Rangers' firesale, as if anyone was that paranoid. More news on the Sather situation as it happens. - Rocha Posted by pete at February 25, 2004 12:18 PMeMail this entry! Comments
