Misery in Ottawa... Again
Wednesday - April 21, 2004

Surely you saw last night's 4-1 Maple Leaf win over the Senators, right? And surely you saw Patrick Lalime give up two of the worst goals in recent playoff memory, right? Then surely you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, read this and this and this to catch up.

One of the more interesting questions is what happens to the Senators now after losing to the Leafs in four out of the last five playoffs. Bob McKenzie has a few guesses. Big ones.

"I can't imagine any circumstance where Lalime comes back as the #1 goaltender for the Senators next year."

"I can't imagine any scenario whereby head coach Jacques Martin will be back."

Quenneville, Schmenville. We'll take Jacques to coach the Rangers, thanks.

I'd like to link to a few articles from the Ottawa perspective but both of their major papers, The Sun and The Citizen, don't have anything up on the game at this time.

Thankfully a little bit of Ranger news today as Heather has a playoff edition of On The Farm for us. Unfortunately, about the only good news within is Balej scored the 'Pack's lone goal in the series opening loss.

And that's it for today. No games tonight as the second round starts with three games on Thursday.
