The News In Brief
Tuesday - April 27, 2004
Hey folks. I'm pressed for time today so we're going to get through the news quickly. Those of you who are solely focused on the NHL playoffs are missing out on Hockey action that actually has consequences for the Rangers. First up, the AHL playoffs where the Hartford Wolfpack are on the verge of knocking out Portland. Heather's coverage of the series has been excellent and this weekend she took a trip. I suspect either acid or mescaline as her latest article is laced with references to road closing groundhog swarms, mumbling magicians casting spells on players and a giant singing parrot. Moving on to the World's, The New York Times has an article titled "US Ties Slovakia" which is a great title for an article but, in this case, is not entirely appropriate as the article deals with last night's game between the Sharks and the Avs. Fortunately, the Rangers website has full coverage including reports on those Rangers participating. Also, Rodent's page has on going coverage and Rodent shared a link to real time scoring updates. There was one NHL game last night and, saddly, the Sharks beat Colorado for the 3rd game straight. Tonight's games include, Detroit vs Calgary and Tampa Bay vs Montreal. Also, the Times has a good article on Iginla today. Mailbag!!!!! A friend of mine just wrote to ask, "Why won't Toronto just drop Philadelphia already??" Good question Scott. I think the answer has to do with their being on of the most vile teams on the face of the earth, but then, I hate the Flyers too. Actually, I hope this series goes to 7 games and that game 7 has 8 overtimes because I love watching these two teams beat the crap out of each other. In fact, just to make things more interesting, I'm going to start the totally true rumor that many of the Philadelphia players have been sleeping with the wives and/or daughters of Toronto players. That's wrong man. Okay -- go watch hockey! -- Rightbug Posted by Cliff at April 27, 2004 10:22 AMeMail this entry! Comments
