DISCONCERTING!
Thursday - April 29, 2004

Actually, there's nothing disconcerting going on at all. I just felt like using that word.

Heather checks in after the Wolfpack's series clinching victory last night. This will be her last report for a while as a play she's directing is opening soon. Gives me an idea. Maybe I should run my script for a musical by her, working title: Zombies Like Soup, Too. See, it's about these Nazi zombies who'd rather sing about soup than eat brains and... eh, she's probably got a lot on her plate right now.

Two playoff games last night as Toronto rolled over the Flyers 4-1 and Colorado staved off elimination by pulling it out in OT on the only goal of the game.

Two games tonight:

Tampa Bay @ Montreal - ESPN, 7pm (Tampa Bay leads 3-0)
Montreal says, "We're not done yet!" Really? A sports team said that? Shocking. And here I thought they were going to say they're going to stay in tonight and get a pizza and watch some soft porn on Cinemax instead.

Detroit @ Calgary - ESPN2, 10pm (Calgary leads 2-1)
According to this report, many Oiler fans have been grudgingly rooting for the Flames in the playoffs because of some small-market bond they share or some such crap. How revoltingly precious.

Another reminder that the league and the NHLPA are meeting for the first time since October today, and it is confirmed that one of the issues is a debate on a shortened schedule. What happens first: The NHL and NHLPA come to an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement or Derek Jeter gets a base hit? Place your bets.

Nothing exciting at the World's yesterday, at least as far as Ranger players or prospects go. Jagr had a goal, Prucha no points in the Czech Republic's 5-1 win over Germany.
