Sounds like the name of a deli (which makes me hungry for a pastrami on rye w/ spicy mustard and a pickle, please) but these are the news items I have for you today.
Gabe is up first with this shocker: "Gary Bettman is getting a bad rap!" Think he's crazy? So did I until I read the rest of the article, in which he makes some great points. No, not that Bettman is doing a better job than you think, but... well, read the article.
The other story is about Marv Albert and his failure to reach a new contract with MSG Network, which you can read about here in the Post and here in the Daily News. Rumors have it that one of the reasons the two couldn't reach a new deal (besides money) was a freedom of speech issue in that Dolan thought Marv was knocking the Knicks too hard and too often. Which does make you wonder why Sam & JD have often seemed to treat the Rangers miseries with kid gloves in the last few seasons, but I'm not making any accusations since I don't know this for fact, obviously; just throwing out a possibility and topic for debate.
