Draft Day 2004
Saturday - June 26, 2004
Update: Rangers take Al Montoya. Surprised ? Rangers traded up to #19 to take Finn born LAURI KORPIKOSKI I love Finns....it's an Esa thing. Coming up, the Rangers have 329 second round picks. Should be fun. :-) At # 36 The Rangers select 170lb DARIN OLVER who was immediately fed. That pick was followed by a trade then at #51 BRUCE GRAHAM who is huge. Brandon Dubinsky was also selected in this second round. End of UPDATE Is everybody all pumped up and ready to go? To be honest, I'm not a big draft guy......I don't spend time studying these kids and I don't pretend to know who should pick who when. That said, you're stuck with me today on the front page. I'll keep you up to date on the big stuff. Also: We'll open up the GameDay Chatroom for those who want to talk in realtime and of course I expect the boards to light up. The Rodent has some draft day stuff for you. Larry Brooks get in his two cents.....I want $ change. The first round will be on ESPN2 at noon. In Canada, all local programing will be replaced with draft coverage. Sorry kids, no cartoons or kung fu flicks today. Programming note: In a few days we'll post our interview with David of Hockeyfights.com and also get a special visit from Darryl "BEEF" Wolski who is promoting the Hockey Gladiator's event in August. Beef says this about today's draft...."I agree that Al Montoya would be a great pick for the Blue Shirts". See ya in a bit. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at June 26, 2004 10:05 AMeMail this entry!
