Blackburn Signed
Friday - July 30, 2004
Hey again folks. For those who missed the news yesterday, Dan Blackburn and Dave Liffiton were both re-signed. The dailies all just ran with the AP story on Blackburn. Here it is from The Post. Sather had the following to say regarding Liffiton: "David is one of our organization's top defensive prospects with a nice combination of size and strength," GM Glen Sather said. "He plays a physical game and handles himself with confidence in all game situations." More competition for defensive positions is always good. Also thanks to board member Leetch3 for linking to this story confirming that University of Michigan forward Dwight Helminen has signed with the Rangers. Helminen, a 5-foot-10, 193-pound swift-skating two-way forward, is not considered an immediate prospect for the NHL, which may have its season delayed or postponed by labor conflict. He'll compete for a spot with the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate in Hartford, Conn. Helminen said he sees himself as a similar style player as former Michigan player John Madden, now a star defensive forward for the New Jersey Devils. Finally, as promised and, because it's summer and you have nothing better to do, I'm very excitied to bring you an exclusive interview with Offical Game Day Sponsor, Disco Mouth. Disco Disco, Good Good. -- Rightbug Posted by Cliff at July 30, 2004 01:11 PMeMail this entry! Comments
