Hlinka Dies
Monday - August 16, 2004

Flyers star Jeremy Roenick paid more than $100,000 US to a Florida firm that made millions selling betting tips to gamblers.

I didn't know this.....there will be a pro Women's league. The WWHL. OK, no Ranger jokes please.

Camp opens for World Cup teams this Friday. "This is going to be another big challenge," said Gretzky. "This is a different challenge than the Olympics. I like to tell everybody that we've never won a World Cup and that's the challenge we have to accept. There's always going to be pressure because Canadians expect their teams to be successful. That's the same at every level."

Ivan Hlinka has died from injuries sustained in an auto accident in the Czech Republic today. I expect more details later in the day. How very sad.
