A well-known NHL rumor website is reporting the Rangers have signed goalie Kevin Weekes and are just waiting until after the arbitration period has ended to announce his signing. Personally I don't like linking to those sites (much less discussing them) because they've gotten way too many things wrong in the past and have proven unreliable.
This rumor seems to have some merit, though. Rodent explains the source of the rumor in a new column, along with speculation on why Sather would want Mr. Weekes when he already has a mediocre goalie in Mr. Dunham.
Update: Having just read the rumor on the website itself, they are not announcing that the Rangers have signed Kevin Weekes, just passing along the story of how they came by that knowledge, which is the responsible way to do it. So they do deserve a link after all.
