I want Hockey for Christmas, Santa

Santa

I can't remember the last time we had no new content for this length of time. It would have to be back in '99 I'd think. And while I feel bad for you, the readers....I'm sure you understand. Many of the writers here haven't written an article in months and you can't blame them. What could you possibly write about with no games? We are not columnists like Larry Brooks, whose job for the NY Post is to write about hockey.....we are just folks like you who have a passion for the game. We don't get paid and trust me, covering the lockout is no fun.

So, please accept my apologies for the lack of content. I promise that if the games do resume we'll go back to providing you the unique stuff you've come to enjoy over the years.

I am a bit surprised to see so many of you stopping by here each day. You know as well as I do that there is nothing to say and yet from so many countries around the world the visits keep coming. You are true hockey fans.

I hope all of you enjoy this holiday season. Please use the extra time and money you have to do something nice for a child. If you don't have kids of your own, there are lots of kids out there in need of a lift where you live. Or, join in on one of the programs that are supporting the troops. Those guys and gals can always use a pick me up.

Thanks for your continued support.

Bird, you've got a great site. Dropping in on days we know there's no news is a bit like me walking by the Garden: Nothing's happening, but I hope I might see someone I know. Thanks for doing what you can during this boring time in NHL. All my best to you and yours and to all the great hockey fans out there for a happy, healthy holiday season. I'm with you, so here's hoping we find ourselves doing something meaningful with our extra time and money in the new year ahead. Cheers! Andrea
