World Junior Championships
Wednesday - December 29, 2004

I was asked why we are not covering the World Juniors and frankly, I have no legit answer. We should I guess. We should also be covering more of the Wolf*Pack but we don't.

I'm sorry, it's my fault.

I'm so damned depressed by the NHL lockout that I can't get motivated to cover other leagues or tourneys. I did watch the third period of the USA vs. Switzerland and I was not impressed. The goals were very sloppy and too frequent. Both keepers looked weak and that's not what I expected to see. Ranger prospect Al Montoya is supposed to be better than what I saw. He looked tired or at least that's what I used to play like when I was exhausted. I will watch the tape delay tonight on ESPN II and see if Al looks any different.

There are a few Ranger prospects in the tournement so I'll try and pay attention if I can but don't expect much. I'm no expert in our prospects. If I see something that stands out one way or the other, I'll fill you in.

Follow along with the 2005 World Junior Championships here.

The Rodent speaks and I listen. His latest is right on the money.
