Escalier au Ciel
Saturday - January 29, 2005
I know, how about some free stuff? Yeah.....good idea. Send in a valid e-mail address here and I'll select two winners at random to receive free Hockeybird t-shirts. I'll announce the winners on Superbowl Sunday. It's my way of saying thanks for hanging in there with us during the lockout. Of course you could just buy a shirt or hat if you like. Last week I ordered a few old Ranger games on DVD from one of the sites in the Google Ads here on the front page. I hope they arrive soon, I could really go for a decent hockey game. One of the games I got is Messier's supposed last game. I never did get to see the TV version as I was there sitting in longtime reader, Daria's seats. Mhurley and her husband sat next to me. What a wonderful night and a great way to say goodbye to NY. I moved to FL. a week or so later. In the coming days be on the lookout for our interview with Julian Rubinstein, author of "The Ballad Of The Whiskey Robber". It's the true story of a goalie who robs banks in Hungary. I met some Hungarians yesterday and they assured me that this was a true story. The book was fascinating and I hope the interview will be a fun read. Bien, voilà. Voici encore plus de texte sans signification en français pour finir le poteau d'aujourd'hui. Il y a une dame qui a sûr, toute ce qui scintille est or, et elle achète un escalier au ciel. Maintenant qu'idiot juste. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at January 29, 2005 07:16 AMeMail this entry! Comments
Who knew Bird was a Francophone? Next thing ya know he'll be interviewing Francois Allaire! Posted by: mhurley on January 29, 2005 08:12 AMHmmmm, good idea. I always wanted to ask him about cheese omlettes. ----}- Posted by: Bird on January 29, 2005 08:31 AMAh, the Birdman is just trying to sneak a music reference by me. You'll have to try it in another language, Bird. Did you know that I'm also a Francophone? Taking the Led out! I saw a documentary about the Hungarian goalie who robs banks a few months ago - actually, coincidentally, right after the LOCKOUT began and I was desperate for hockey in any mention, shape or form! The guy is a riot, he escaped from prison once already and thinks the whole thing is quite funny. Apparently he's not quite as good a goalie as he is a bank robber Posted by: KrisP on January 30, 2005 01:33 PMPost a comment
