NHL to file Complaint #3 ??
Tuesday - March 29, 2005

Sportsnet is reporting that sources within the NHL have said that if the league does not receive a 'satisfactory' response from the NHLPA this week, another charge will be filed with the National Labor Relations Board.

Are they kidding? So now every time they make some crappy offer and the union doesn't accept it, they are going to file a complaint? Well it looks that way. So much for a partnership, and so much for good faith. This was the plan all along, and now you can look forward to replacement players and legal battles.

The NHLPA was expected to respond to the NHL's proposals some time this week, and there was some speculation about a counterproposal from the union. But it seems as though no matter what they do short of accepting the league's offer, the NHL will pursue avenues other than collective bargaining to attain their goal.

So stay tuned, hockey fans. Pretty soon we will all be labor law experts. Oh boy, how exciting.

Spector says that it is time to learn about labor law. If you still care, that is.

Don't forget your daily dose of the Rodent.
