Mysterious
Wednesday - April 06, 2005
More articles are popping up about the optimism generated from this 'new concept' that was discussed at the CBA meeting on Monday. But no one seems to have an idea what that concept consists of, or even whose idea it was. Sportsnet seems to be the place that has the most optimism. They think both sides are really ready to talk this out now. "The two sides have agreed to concentrate on what was described post-meeting as "the potential for a workable concept" by conducting internal discussions to further develop this mysterious new platform." Spector remains pessimistic, and with good reason. He doesn't want to get excited about news that quotes 'unnamed sources' regarding positive turns. And I agree with him. Until I hear some concrete news, I am not getting excited about anything. For all you goalies and future goalies out there . . . your interests will be represented at the GM meeting later this week. In addition to Brendan Shanahan, Martin Brodeur will be attending the gathering to discuss potential rule changes. It is only fair, since goalies will probably be the most affected players on the ice, should those changes be implemented. The Rodent reports that Rangers defenseman Fedor Tyutin has broken his arm. And he also writes that the substance Maxim Kondratiev tested positive for was Ephedrine, a stimulant. The Wolf Pack are on the road tonight against the Worcester Ice Cats. Game time is 7:05 pm EST. I am off to enjoy some of the first nice weather here in NY in a long time with a round of golf. See you tomorrow. HDH Posted by Jim at April 06, 2005 07:27 AMeMail this entry! |
