The Longest Day
Sunday - June 05, 2005

The 40th U.S President speaks on the 40th aniversary of D-Day.

It would become one of the all time great speeches in modern history. I think President Reagan can lay claim to a few different great speeches but I'm quite sure that few events if any are as important as the Normandy landing. On June 6th in 1944, 225 Rangers along with thousands of others embarked on a mission, the likes of which had never before been seen on earth.

If you know someone who took part in this great event of world history, call 'em and thank 'em. You have so few chances to do so as each day passes.

"We are bound today by what bound us 40 years ago, the same loyalties, traditions, and beliefs. We're bound by reality. The strength of America's allies is vital to the United States, and the American security guarantee is essential to the continued freedom of Europe's democracies. We were with you then; we are with you now. Your hopes are our hopes, and your destiny is our destiny."
