Back in the New York Groove
Monday - June 27, 2005

Perhaps the negotiators for the NHL and the NHLPA are trying to build up their frequent flyer miles. Today the sides return to New York City to resume negotiations. Although recent rumors have suggested otherwise, many people felt that July 1st was a possible date for the end of this lockout. Who knows, maybe by putting in a few more 15 hour days the sides can announce an agreement in time for the holiday weekend. Or, on the other hand, we could still be a couple of weeks away.

I don't know if I missed this last week, but Scott Burnside at ESPN writes this article about how the NHL might go about marketing the sport once a new CBA is finalized.

The Rodent has a must-read today, even though it has virtually nothing to do with hockey.

That's really it as far as hockey news goes. I am going to save my energy and hope that something big happens this week.
