Dennis, Bombs and Lawyers
Sunday - July 10, 2005

Here on east coast of Florida we felt the effects of hurricane Dennis but suffered little. While it's currently pounding it's way up the coast with 145mph winds, it looks like the Alabama/Mississippi coast will take it on the chin.....good luck to all in it's way.

I wish to extend sympathies to those in London who have lost a family member or had someone suffer an injury. Leave it to the Brits to publish the headline "Go To Hell" following the attcks. Bully for you! Just know we're with ya.

I'm still waiting for a new motherboard to arrive so the main box at Hockeybird can be repaired so hang in there for the free stuff. I also don't have access to all my normal stuff but there are a few links I will post today.

NY Post - LET'S get this straight. The players owe no one an apology for fighting the good fight they did last season against submitting to a salary cap system that, in both the short and long runs, will provide windfall profits to NHL owners but will prove ruinous to the game as we have always known it.

I agree with Uncle Larry but who's asking the players to apologize?

TSN - ''We lost a season for no reason,'' Legace told The Associated Press in a wide-ranging interview. ''We should've crumbled last September when the owners wanted a salary cap.''

I understand what he's saying here......but he should really just shut up. If the players got a much better deal than we wouldn't be hearing this crap. I guess screwing the fans would have been OK if they got a good deal? I was hoping that both sides would just keep quiet and smile for the fans.

There are numorus links explaining the fact that lawyers are crossing T's and dotting I's......I wonder what they're getting an hour? Never pay by the hour if you're looking for speedy work.

Don't forget to read Brian Leeds' new article unless you are Gary Bettman....then you should really be working on your resume.

The radio voice of the Florida Panthers will be joining me in the Birdcage for a little Southern Fried Hockey in a few days. Turns out *shhhhhh*, he's a Rangers fan *shhhhh*.
