Pre-season Ends Tonight For Blueshirts
Sunday - October 02, 2005

Henrik Lundqvist

The Rangers host the NJ Devils tonight (5pm est.) in the last tune up before the NHL season kicks off on Wednesday. I'm not sure how I feel about this. For one, I'm happy and excited to get our game back....but I then realize that this may not really be "our" game anymore. Also, the season itself could be a long, difficult one for Ranger fans as the wins and losses may be more like losses and a few wins.

Rather than bitch about stuff, today I'll just give you some news links and continue to rebuild the main computer here at Hockeybird headquarters. I'm happy to report that it's up and running once again. I'm using it now though I still have much work to do in regaining all the software and settings I need to run this place right.

The Rodent bitches about last night's play. I expect the foam TV brick he has will get plenty of use this year although the Mets put a summer of whipping on the poor brick.

Larry Brooks and Sherry Ross both do a sort of NHL preview and both bash a political figure. I'm tempted to ignore both of them.

Newsday talks about Hossa scoring a goal last night in the Rangers 5-2 loss.

In the Journal News, Rick Carpiniello points out that us fans are getting the shaft and it's not a hockey stick.

The NY Times does the NHL preview thing.

caldercup0, a member of our boards and our newest writer (he'll be giving us some Wolf*Pack coverage this season) posted on the 3-2 loss by the Pack.

You can also check out the BlueShirt Bulletin and Outsidethegarden for more Rangers stuff.

There's a thread on the boards discussing last night's game if you must read about it......I'll be back with more news and hopefully I'll have set up this box to once again do podcasts. We'll see.

Also as in years past we have a cheesy chatroom set up for real time discussion on games. Feel free to drop in and talk puck. You might need to install Java to use the chatroom.
