Hello NY and everywhere else, welcome to the Birdcage. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all back to the NHL in whatever form it takes. Frankly, this site was all about comments and opinions on games. Sure, we covered and wrote about many different subjects but the real content was built around the actual games being played. This past lockout year was torturous for me as well as many of you. But for me, it became difficult to keep the site going as without games, the focus of the site was out of whack.
Think about it....who in the hell wanted to read about the lockout stuff instead of a Rocha Report card? No one, that is unless you're a sick freak.
To the credit of so many, this place continued on and reading the boards on a wide variety of subjects including the lockout was at least interesting. I want to thank HDH for stepping up to do the news when my frustration and new work schedule prevented me from doing daily updates. He did so well he's now doing the news on most days. Rumor has it that Rocha will take a day or two of front page news now that the season has begun....and I am so looking forward to the first card.
Folks, make sure you have some cold ones on hand when you tune in tonight. I am sure I'll be having more than one. I'll raise my brew in honor of the return of the game I love so much, to the NY Rangers and to all of you. Thanks for sticking around, thanks for coming back and thanks for making this place fun again.
