Rangers v. Devils, 10/8
Saturday - October 08, 2005
Tonight the Rangers will take on the Devils in New Jersey. Game time is 7:00 pm EST. Henrik Lundqvist will start his first official NHL game tonight. Additionally, winger Ville Nieminen returns from a groin injury and will join the lineup. The Star Ledger also carries the Lundqvist story. John Dellapina reports on the trade that brought Fedor Fedorov to the Rangers organization. Andrew Gross of the Journal News has the most interesting stuff today. He reports that both Tom Poti and Jamie Lundmark (both of whom have been the subject of recent trade rumors), might be scratched for tonight's game, while Petr Prucha and Maxim Kondratiev might see their first action. The Rodent has some good stuff on how the Rangers now focus on short term goals rather than the long haul. Blueshirt Bulletin has extensive Rangers coverage. Tonight the Hartford Wolf Pack begin their season at home against the Manchester Monarchs. The Hartford Courant has a preview of the new look Pack. The team will also honor former captain and current coach Ken Gernander tonight in pre-game ceremonies retiring his number 12. Game time is 7:00 pm EST. Enjoy the game, and the wet weekend.
