Isles Win 2-2 (OT) 1-0 Shootout
Wednesday - October 19, 2005

Do I need to repeat my stand on shootouts?

That was one hell of a game though. Great....no, make that fantastic goaltending on both ends, all night long. Dippy was about as good as you can be until the third and even then he had no chance on the two against. Lundy was not worked as often but was solid until one shooter in the shootout.

Petr Prucha tied the game deflecting a Fedor Tyutin shot for a power play goal.

I was impressed with both teams and think we'll see another treat tomorrow night. Here's the box.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman talks about the new NHL while being a guest speaker at the 10th annual Sports Media Canada Achievement Awards on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 in Toronto. The event was blacked out on the OLN network. Sweeping changes have reinvigorated the NHL, the commissioner said in a speech during the annual Sports Media Canada luncheon Wednesday. "Of course OLN blacks out the games on Mondays and Tuesdays so many fans who want to see the games can't. Even the ones that paid extra. Really, it's true. I can't make stuff like this up folks."
