Too Many Mistakes
Thursday - October 20, 2005
You can't sugar coat it, the Rangers came out flat, Weekes gave up three quick ones and in a nutshell that spells out the game. Sure, The Rangers did come back as Jagr popped a hat trick and they never did quit. But the Islanders out hit 'em, out goalied 'em and outscored 'em. 5-4 is your final. This was the first game I've seen where the team was beaten to more loose pucks then they got. It was also the first time this season where I was disappointed. Fedor Tyutin had a poor game but he wasn't alone. I did think that Ortmyer, Moore, Betts and Ward played well. What can you say about the hat trick by Jagr? If we get better goaltending from Weekes (or anyone else, wink*wink), if they don't take stupid penalties and the Rangers aren't so damned flat in the first three minutes, it's a different game. It is what it is, a loss.....the kind you'd like to have back. Here's the box. Maybe this one shoulda been on OLN....and blacked out. I hate losing to the Isles...who played well enough to win. They go as far as Dippy takes 'em from what I can see in two games. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at October 20, 2005 09:44 PMeMail this entry! |
