JD - "Take The Two Points And Run"
Sunday - December 11, 2005

Whoa.

Ugly doesn't begin to describe the mannor in which the Rangers won last night. They did win however, giving them five out of a possible six in the three game road trip.

NY Post - A goal like Marty Rucinsky scored 1:37 into overtime to beat the Blues, 5-4, last night shouldn't count unless he first called it.

Daily News - "We'll take it, you'd better believe it," Rangers coach Tom Renney said of getting five points out of a possible six on the trip. "We've been a pretty good team this year. And we haven't had too many games that bark. This one was a big dog."

Newsday - "I really am trying to look at it a game at a time," Rangers coach Tom Renney said yesterday. "I don't know if we have a No. 1 guy. When both are healthy and playing well, there's a real gray area there. I hope that they're both healthy and they both play well so we can alternate or go with the guy that gets the win."

Um, that's coachspeak for....It's Henke's job if he wants it.

NY Times - Prucha, a 23-year-old rookie forward, extended his streak of consecutive games with a goal to five, a span in which he has scored seven goals. He has scored 10 goals in his last 11 games, coinciding with the Rangers' tear.

Speaking of Prucha......why not visit his website....er, I mean the Rodent. According to the "Stats you can't get anywhere else", Petr scores more goals per minutes of ice time than anyone in the league. That's pretty good for a guy who almost didn't come over to NY, then we wondered if he'd make the team. Now we're wondering if he should be included in the race for rookie of the year.

Let's take a quick look at other news.....

Larry Brooks - The Rangers are extremely unlikely to find a better player or a better fit to fill both the second-line right wing spot and the power play point spot than Petr Sykora, who hails from the same hometown of Plzen as Martin Straka.

Sherry Ross - A week from tomorrow, and more than 25 years after the Miracle at Lake Placid, the American Olympic hockey team selections will be announced, amid much less fanfare and many fewer outraged opinions than Canada's.

Daily News - Team USA general manager Don Waddell said last night that Brian Leetch is on the bubble with only eight days to go until the 2006 Olympic team roster is announced.

Normally I'd be excited about the upcoming Olympics but I could end up rooting for the Czech team instead of the US.

Things are a bit nuts here at home today.....we'll see if I get a chance to pop on again later.
