Hartford Whaler fans still think of him as theirs. Wings fans will always remember him for all the Stanley Cup teams. We here in NY have admired Brendan from afar....coveting him for years. Tonight the MSG faithful showed their appreciation for Shanny's 600th career goal. He's one of us now.

There's not much to complain about tonight....from the opening ceremony to the performance on the ice we got our money's worth. The big keys to the season were all on display. Henke was brilliant. Jagr scored 29 seconds in and Shanny popped two goals. The penalty kill and defense did a good job. Petr Prucha looked really good tonight and got both primary assists on the Shanahan goals.
The Rangers did allow two goals against...Semin and Fata. Rico freakin Fata. Both were tough for Henke as they were bang bang plays from behind the net to an open player in front. The coaches may want to notice that.
One out of 82 is not a season....but it's the best way to start eh?

BTW: On September 17th we reported Jagr as the New York Rangers Captain.
