Kaspar's Return
Monday - October 16, 2006
A few weeks late perhaps and I still don't know all that I should about why he sat out....but we'll get to see Darius Kasparaitis tonight vs. the Devils. Daily News - "The Rangers will attempt to cut down on their goals-against tonight by putting Henrik Lundqvist back between the pipes and by having defenseman Darius Kasparaitis make his season debut." Newsday - "Kasparaitis, who turns 34 today, was scratched for the first five games. He had not met the conditioning standards required by the coaching staff as he recovers from offseason shoulder and hernia surgery." Newsday's Zippy thinks Pöck will sit to make room for Kaspar. So does Larry Brooks of the NY Post - Last year, Kasparaitis was a large part of the team's personality. Tonight, he'll get his first to make an impact on this season. And it comes on his 34th birthday, no less. "My best birthday present ever," he said. "I'm excited. I want to make a difference."
There was only one NHL game....it ended in a shootout. The Rodent is a bit pissed. I have done it myself I'm sure....using the term "we" when talking about the Rangers. When this guy says "we" he means it....Billy Wagner of the Mets. Those of you who are NY fans will note the wins by both the Jets and the Giants in addition to the Mets. Let's hope for a Rangers win tonight...I'm thirsty. ----}- Bird Posted by Bird at October 16, 2006 07:44 AMeMail this entry! |
